Breaking news from QSEC!
QSEC has recently learned that the Qld Government is intending to conflate the social enterprise strategy with Small Business. While we acknowledge there are some similarities, QSEC is committed to ensuring that social enterprise is not confused with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outcomes for small business, which could lead to "social washing".
We are disappointed by this decision, particularly after the many years of advocating for an updated social enterprise strategy, the recent incredible growth of our movement, and in the wake of the highly successful SEWF 2022. We believe now is the time for us to demonstrate the power of social enterprise.
How you can help?
- Are you a QLD based social enterprise? Fill in this URGENT survey to help us tell the story of why the social enterprise sector is so different to BAU. This will only take a few minutes and closes Sunday 5 Feb 5pm
- Talk to your local State Government representative and invite them to witness why social enterprise exists and what we aim to achieve. Consider inviting your State Representative to your business so that you can show them the value you create. We are different to BAU... Let's show them how!
