The Landcare Farming Program (LFP) is currently seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI's) from individuals, groups and organisations who have terrific and innovative stories to tell about managing for healthy landscapes in the agricultural sector. We know great work is generating some compelling results out there and we want to support you share this work with a wider audience.

Pulling together great stories takes time and effort, SO we want to support you with funding and help you tell others about the good work that is underway in your area that is aligned with the Landcare Farming

Themes of:

  • Vegetation, Soils and Waterways
  • Groundcover
  • Carbon flows
  • Biodiversity
  • Building Drought Resilience
  • Me and My People

Sharing your story. 

LFP is seeking to collaborate with farmers, graziers, researchers, farming groups and their facilitators and organisations to share land management stories that demonstrate successful results through one of the following: 

  • Showcasing Australian agriculture’s strong spirit of innovation and ingenuity, and commitment to continually adapting and improving land management practices across our variable environment
  • Showcasing agricultural producers at the forefront of research, demonstration projects, new market niches and agricultural stewardship programs
  • Supporting improved landholder and producer-led involvement in natural resource management for enhanced agriculture, ecosystem and community resilience outcomes, including participation in environmental markets  
  • Showcasing champions respected by landholders, industry and community to build the value proposition of the agricultural industry and Landcare
  • Demonstrating peer-to-peer learning between landholders, and across industry sectors, to build a community of innovative industry and Landcare Farming leaders and create our collaborative industry knowledge bank  

 

NOTE:  this is NOT restricted to Landcare farmers and groups BUT projects linked to Landcare groups and networks will be viewed favourably.  

We will work with you to determine the best way to generate these stories and support you in the process which may include collection of farm data, site visits, interviews, write-up, short video development etc.  

 

The Process: 

  1. Complete EOI on SmartyGrants & submit by COB Monday 24th October. Short-listed applicants will be contacted to discuss proposal detail, including budget, on 25-28th October. Please reach out to Angela with any questions ang.hammond@landcareaustralia.com.au OR 0402 921 929
  2. Notification of outcome to applicants COB Monday 31stOctober.  Projects to be underway shortly afterwards.    

What’s in it for me? 

Landcare Farming will collaborate with you and support you to celebrate stories about best management of our agricultural landscapes and promote these stories to the broader audience.  We want to work together to celebrate the great stories happening in land management!! 

We look forward to collaborating with interested parties to design and develop the story style and delivery that suits you. 

Story sharing will be via the LFP communication channels including Landcarer which is an easy-to-access community portal for sharing information on a wide range of subjects.    

 

Story Format Options:  The story format will be developed in collaboration with story providers. Below are examples only - other options can be discussed with LFP: 

 

  • Instructional Videos: e.g. soil condition assessment,  flora and/or fauna measurement;  etc 
  • Case study – outlining project process and participants – video and photographs included.
  • Research Report  detailed scientific report 
  • Communications series – plan of weekly OR monthly posts suitable for Instagram, FB & or Landcarer 
  • Other - please describe 
  • Media consent is required for any photographs/video's etc. 

The material must align with the LFP Principles & not be constrained by copyright.
