Celebrate Diwali in St Kilda with Space2b

Space2b isn’t your average gallery—it’s a vibrant social enterprise where art, design, and community collide. Supporting refugees, new migrants and people seeking asylum, Space2b is home to a retail shop, art gallery and the coolest little laneway café around. It’s a place where creativity sparks belonging.

And this month, it’s all about Diwali—the festival of light. Here’s what’s coming up:

Festive Shades Art Exhibition  - 7 October - 1 November


Step into India’s rich artistic traditions with works by the Indian Australian Artists Inc. From the storytelling vibrancy of Madhubani and Tanjore paintings to the earthy spirit of Warli and Gond art, this exhibition is a celebration of heritage and identity.

  • Opening Night: Friday 10 October, 5.30–7.30pm - 144 Chapel Street, St.Kilda. Enjoy soulful live music from Jessie Hillel (yes, she was runner-up from New Zealand’s Got Talent), Indian snacks, and a buzzing community atmosphere. Thanks to the generous support of the Palais Theatre, entry is free.
