SECNA Quarterly Meet-up

The Social Enterprise Council of NSW & ACT (SECNA) returns on Tuesday, 10 June 2025, with its latest Quarterly Meet-up - this time tackling one of the most pressing topics for social entrepreneurs: funding.

Hosted in the creative and collaborative Canva Space, Surry Hills, and available online via Zoom, this hybrid event explores the evolving landscape of funding for social enterprises, from traditional grants to impact-focused debt and equity solutions.

Why This Topic Matters

Social enterprises occupy a unique space between charitable organisations and for-profit businesses. Unlike charities that rely on grants and donations, or corporations that access venture capital or bank loans, social enterprises often require blended and creative financing solutions.

This meet-up is designed to demystify funding options - bringing in perspectives from philanthropy, social lenders, and investors to help enterprises at any stage better understand what’s available, what’s changing, and how to position themselves for financial sustainability and growth.

Event Schedule

  • 6:00 PM – Arrival and registration

  • 6:30 PM – Expert panel discussion and Q&A

  • 7:00 PM – Light catering and networking (in-person) / Online discussion hosted by SASEC (South Australian Social Enterprise Council)
