About this event
The 2023 BOFA Film Festival will be held from the 1st to the 3rd of September. Our annual short film competition provides a platform for filmmakers to tell their stories in their own way. Stories that matter, inspire, bring us together and have an impact. It’s these stories that form a part of what we call the ‘BOFA Effect’.
THE CREATIVE BRIEF
This year our theme is INSPIRING CHANGE. We want to showcase films that inspire change on a personal, community or global level. Stories of inspiring people or groups. Stories of communities that have overcome challenges. Stories of movements that have or are trying to make the world a better place.
We are pleased to announce entries are now open for the 2023 BOFA Short Film Competition. Entries close at midnight on 16th July 2023.
Open to entries nationwide, we welcome all filmmakers of any heritage, age or identity to submit their films in the genre of their choice.
During the BOFA Launceston Film Festival, all shortlisted films will be screened at Nualla O’Flaherty theatre (QVMAG) Launceston, and on Sept 2, all winners and the People’s Choice will be awarded at the BOFA Short Film Awards night.
