The Homelessness Sector Development Round provides funding to homelessness peak bodies.
The Hon Clare O’Neil MP announced the Homelessness Sector Development Round on 6 March 2025. The round will run over 3 years from 2025–26 to 2027–28 and provides more support to tackle homelessness and Australians in housing distress and invests in homelessness peaks to conduct research to inform Government homelessness policies.
Homelessness Peak Bodies play a critical role representing and advocating for the homelessness sector providing policy advice, research, innovation and collaboration to drive positive change in the lives of those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The grant will support homelessness sector organisations to scale up research and policy development capability and bring forward new ideas to support the homelessness sector and Government’s housing and homelessness agenda.
The purpose of the grant opportunity is to:
- strengthen the capacity of the housing and homelessness sector through sector engagement, coordination and workforce capability initiatives
- provide expert, evidence-based policy recommendations to the homelessness sector and Australian Government to inform decision making
- support the homelessness sector and Australian Government to deliver housing and homelessness programs, policies and strategies.
The objectives are to:
- provide investment to the sector to strengthen its capability through research, development, coordination and engagement to improve homelessness and housing outcomes for vulnerable communities
- deliver support to key areas of interest, through grants to target organisations to undertake activities and projects that assists the homelessness sector and Australian Government’s housing and homelessness agendas.
Eligibility:
To be eligible to receive a grant, you must be one of the invited organisations listed in the ‘invited applicants’ table in the guidelines and have received an invitation to apply for this grant opportunity.
