Small not-for-profit organisations often face a steep hill when it comes to marketing and media — limited budgets, tiny comms teams and growing competition for attention mean their stories struggle to be told. But a fresh opportunity is helping level the playing field. MediaCast’s Pro Bono for Purpose program is offering Australian charities and NFPs grants of $5,000 or $10,000 (in-kind or service value) to run national media campaigns across radio, TV, print and digital.
Last year’s recipients — including Fortem Australia (supporting first-responder wellbeing) and Basic Rights Queensland (legal advocacy for vulnerable clients) — saw dramatic results: more than 1,000 media mentions and an estimated 56.4 million impressions across campaigns.
Eligible campaigns must start from January 2026, be led by an ACNC-registered Australian charity/NFP, and aim to achieve social impact via media-relations. The application window closes 12 November 2025, with successful applicants notified by 5 December.
For NFPs looking to raise awareness, build brand presence, or launch a major campaign: this is a rare chance to tap into high-level PR expertise and national media reach previously inaccessible.
