In the wake of devastating natural disasters, the NSW Government is stepping in to help non-profit organisations recover and rebuild. Through the Natural Disaster Relief Loan program, eligible non-profits can access concessional loans of up to $25,000 to assist with the restoration of vital facilities, equipment, or temporary relocation.
Who can apply?
This support is designed for community-driven, voluntary organisations that suffered direct damage during a government-declared natural disaster. Whether you're a local arts group, a charity, an environmental society, or a religious or educational non-profit, you could be eligible—provided your operations are based in the affected area and you can show both need and capacity to repay the loan.
What’s covered?
The loan can be used for repairing or replacing damaged assets, leasing temporary premises, or securing new storage solutions. With flexible repayment options and a fixed concessional interest rate, it’s designed to ease the financial burden during recovery.
What you’ll need to apply:
Applicants must provide financial records, evidence of damage, and proof of non-profit status, among other documentation. Applications must be submitted online within six months of the disaster declaration date for your area.
Administered by the NSW Rural Assistance Authority, and funded by NSW Treasury, this ongoing program is a lifeline for non-profits striving to continue serving their communities in challenging times.
