Program objective
Sound NSW is committed to supporting existing and new live music venues in NSW to achieve best practice in sound management. This grant is designed to support venues that experience sound complaints or are restricted from presenting live music due to insufficient sound mitigation measures.
Funding will assist existing and new live music venues with sound mitigation infrastructure support to ensure viability and longevity in the live music sector.
Eligible venues can apply for up to $100,000 to invest in sound mitigation measures informed by their acoustic assessment report.
An acoustic report up to the value of $10,000 will be provided by Sound NSW.
The purpose of this program is to
- Support NSW live music venues to achieve best practice sound management and infrastructure
- Support and re-invigorate the live music industry in NSW
- Enhance and expand the number of live music options for NSW residents
- Build business and community confidence in the live music industry.
The key program outcomes are to
- Increase number of fit-for-purpose live performance venues in NSW
- Increase sector knowledge and expertise in best practice sound management and sustainable live performance programming
- Reduce sound impact on neighbours, leading to less complaints and increased business viability
- Increase diversity of live performance offering for improved visitor experience.
Program delivery: Between 1 April 2024 and 31 December 2024.
