The X-TEND WA Program provides funding to organisations to help them provide innovator and investor education programs to start-ups and entrepreneurs in Western Australia.
It offers up to $150,000 in funding to organisations that deliver educational and capability-building programs for innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors within the state. This grant is designed to support the growth and development of Western Australia's innovation ecosystem by enhancing the skills and knowledge of those involved in startups, emerging businesses, and investment activities.
Eligible applicants include educational institutions, incubators, accelerators, and organisations that provide training, mentoring, and support for entrepreneurs. To qualify, applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN), be based in Western Australia, or agree to register a business address in the state. The program is open year-round, providing ongoing opportunities for organisations to apply and secure funding for their projects.
The X-TEND WA Program aims to create a more dynamic and sustainable innovation environment in Western Australia by fostering the development of new businesses and the upskilling of the local workforce. Projects supported by this grant may include educational forums, workshops, mentoring programs, and support for incubators and accelerators. By investing in these initiatives, the WA Government seeks to drive economic growth and establish Western Australia as a leading hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. Organisations interested in applying are encouraged to submit proposals that align with these objectives and demonstrate a clear plan for delivering impactful educational programs.
Although the X-TEND grant program is open all year round, there are various ‘cut-off dates’ when the latest submissions will be downloaded, and then assessed.
A 1:1 co-investment is preferred in this process. However, it is recognised that some vital initiatives may not be able to attract this level of co-investment. As such, partial or nonmatched funding applications may be considered and evaluated on a case by case basis where a demonstrated market need is shown. This is at JTSI’s absolute discretion.
