Regional Development Australia NT has announced the first stage in creating the first Territory-wide liveability framework to define, measure and promote liveability.

First NT-wide Liveability Framework Project

Regional Development Australia NT has launched the first stage of developing the Northern Territory's first Territory-wide Liveability Framework, an independent, evidence-based initiative designed to define, measure and promote liveability across the NT.

The framework will provide a practical reference for industry, First Nations organisations, and local, Territory and Australian governments to support regional growth, workforce attraction, housing, investment and population planning.

As part of the project's development, nominations are now open for a Territory-wide working group. Regional Development Australia NT CEO Katrina Kawaljenko said broad community representation is essential to ensure the framework reflects the diversity and priorities of the Northern Territory.

"The success of this framework depends on collaboration. We encourage anyone with an interest in the Territory's future to get involved and help shape a practical tool that supports stronger communities and sustainable growth," Ms Kawaljenko said.

Once completed, the Northern Territory Liveability Framework will include flexible indicators and easy-to-use tools to measure liveability across all settings, from remote homelands and communities to regional centres and Darwin.

Nominations are now open.
