As the world’s largest sustainability initiative, engaging over 20,000 companies globally, the UN Global Compact is unveiling new reports on leadership, governance, supply chains, and human rights: resources set to influence the sustainable business agenda now and for years to come.
What CEOs Are Saying
The 2025 CEO Study, co-authored with Accenture, surveyed nearly 2,000 CEOs across 128 countries. The findings reveal a powerful but urgent reality:
- 88 % say the business case for sustainability is stronger than ever
- 99 % plan to maintain or expand ESG commitments.
- Yet only half feel ready to communicate their progress confidently.
While CEOs overwhelmingly see sustainability as a strategic imperative, capability gaps in technology, governance, and skills still limit progress. The study frames this as a “turning point”: sustainability has moved from a moral choice to a business necessity.
