Sefa marks their 15th the milestone with a moonshot goal: unlocking $500 million in flexible capital for impact-led organisations by 2030. So far, they have unlocked $160 million.
What $500 million can do?
Combining capital sources into highly effective impact stacks
This $500 million will reach at least 1,000 community-led organisations by 2030, particularly those groups that traditional finance overlooks. Based on current demand, the funding will back work across:
- 37% homelessness and affordable housing
- 20% thriving communities
- 14% women's safety
- 13% mental health
- 10% jobs for disadvantaged people
Sefa brings philanthropy, government and private capital together into impact stacks that match how organisations actually grow:
Blended capital: we combine funding from different sources into one deal, so the risk is shared and more capital flows.
Sequenced capital: we use early funding to help an organisation get ready, then bring in private capital once the model is proven.
Syndicated capital: we coordinate investors to back a deal alongside us, staying involved to keep it on track.
The aim is simple: get the right capital to the right organisations, on terms that work, at the moment it matters most.
