Building the Foundations for a Purpose-Led Economy
Australia’s social enterprise sector is coming together to shape a shared vision for the future through the Social Enterprise National Strategy, coordinated by Social Enterprise Australia. The sector-led strategy aims to unlock the potential of social enterprises by creating stronger alignment, collaboration and systems that enable organisations to grow their impact.
Co-designed with hundreds of people from across the social enterprise ecosystem, the strategy recognises that social enterprises are uniquely positioned to address complex social and environmental challenges by putting people and the planet first while using business approaches to create lasting change. It provides a roadmap for governments, investors, communities and sector organisations to work together to strengthen the conditions needed for social enterprises to thrive.
The strategy highlights the need for greater awareness, stronger support systems, better access to markets and investment, and coordinated action across the ecosystem. By building shared priorities and pathways for collaboration, it aims to help more social enterprises scale their impact and contribute to an economy that delivers positive outcomes for communities and the environment.
