The World Day Against Child Labour

Child labour is caused by and perpetuates poverty and exclusion. It deprives children of education and opportunity, and stacks the odds against their securing a decent income and stable employment as adults.

The World Day Against Child Labour

Two-thirds of child labour occurs as a contributing family member, therefore in most cases this is felt at a household level.

But it also holds back economic growth of entire countries and can be linked to rising inequality in many parts of the world. It is a threat to social cohesion and human progress.

This day asks for international action to achieve social justice.

So today we ask you, how do you as a conscious consumer seek to support organisations that work to fight against child labour.

Whether that be through the products you purchase, or the organisations you support through activities like volunteer work.

Every step towards equality helps.
