Victorian Premier Ben Carroll has delayed the start of the proposed Work From Home Bill until July 2026, signalling that the Government remains open to further discussions with the business community.
The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed the delay, while continuing to call for the Bill to be scrapped. The Chamber argues the proposed legislation is unnecessary and could create additional costs and regulatory burdens for Victorian businesses.
The Chamber has urged the Victorian Government to work with business to restore confidence in the state's economy and ensure future legislation supports businesses operating in challenging economic conditions.
Victorian employers have been given some breathing room, with the State Government delaying the commencement of the proposed reforms; however, Premier Ben Carroll has made it clear they have not been abandoned and remain firmly on the Government’s agenda.
