Victorian Government proceeding with Work from Home rights
The Victorian Government has confirmed it is proceeeding with legilsation to allow a legal right to work from home up to two days a week. The legilsation will be introduced into in July 2026 and amended into the Equal Opportunity Act.
It will apply to all businesses, irresepctive of size, so a small business exemption wil not apply. However, workplaces with less than 15 employees will have a delayed start date of 1 July 2027, and all other workplaces will have a start date of 1 July 2026.
