Victorian Government proposes new WFH legislation

The Victorian Government has announced its intention to make working from home a legal right.

State Premier Jacinta Allan announced the introduction of legislation to protect the ability of an employee to work from home.

Under the proposed law, those who can reasonably work from home will have the right to do so for at least two days a week – public or private sector.

To develop these laws, the Victorian Government says it will undertake consultation to consider the types and sizes of businesses to be covered by this scheme, as well as the definition of remote work and who is able to do it.
