Workshop Training Support Volunteer

SisterWorks is a partner of UN Women to deliver UN Women’ Second Chance Education pilot project in Australia. SisterWorks provides training programs to the most vulnerable women with little English of Refugee and migrant backgrounds.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and support facilitation of training programmes prepared and delivered by SisterWorks.
  • Ensure our people management systems are updated with all new information regarding a Sister's journey while at SisterWorks.
  • Welcoming Sisters, encouraging them to know each other and ensuring they have a positive experience during the training.
  • Assist in the registration process of new Sisters joining trainings.
  • Use available necessary SisterWorks tools to set up the activity for the day specified in the training programme.
  • Monitor the progress of each participant and work with the training facilitator to plan and adjust individual support as required.
  • Work in a team with facilitators, organizing activities and sharing responsibilities.

Desired experience and qualifications:

  • Ability to follow instructions and guidance.
  • Prior experience working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Ability to support activities and engage others.
  • Good listening, observation and organization skills.
  • Capacity to work as part of a team.

This role is best suited to someone

  • With a sufficient command of spoken and written English.
  • Is confident working with women of varied cultural backgrounds and limited English skills.
  • Has a warm and inviting personality.
  • Who is organised and proactive.
  • Can work in a dynamic environment and problem solve challenges with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
