We currently have a permanent, full time opportunity for a Data Architect join our highly engaged and professional Enterprise Architecture team within the Transformation Division. The Data Architect will report to the Enterprise Architect.
The Data Architect will provide strategic architecture services and own the development of Enterprise data modelling and associated solution architectures. The Data Architect will work collaboratively to prioritise technology needs, taking into account the wider data and privacy governance landscape, enterprise architecture, business/product/architectural strategies and principles to establish a tailored architectural modelling and technology solutions.

What you will be doing
- Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs and/or provide business value through the use of technology in line with the broader Bank Australia technology strategies and enterprise architecture
- Identify functional and non-functional requirements to inform the creation of options analysis, reference architectures, and Solution Designs
- Conduct research, develop Enterprise data models, high-level and low-level (detailed) architectures
- Provide quality assurance of data centric solutions (developed by external Solution Architects) ensuring that solutions meet regulatory
- Define, lead, champion and promote the data strategy, architecture and roadmaps in collaboration with business / product owners taking into account changes in business strategies and/or external industry and technology trends
- Development and custodian of data specific architectural strategies and architecture artefacts to ensure currency and relevance for various stakeholders
- Provide guidance (influence and align direction) to Solution Architects (external/ internal), Technology Leads, Product Owners and Engineers to ensure data architecture meet project requirements
- Contribute to Data Domain management planning and Data Governance forum(s).
What you will bring
- Solid experience in IT Strategy & Architecture within an enterprise scale environment
- Strong Data modelling and enterprise data architecture skills
- Strong business process mapping skills
- Experience with architecting business critical systems
- Extensive previous experience developing digital architectural solutions based on related technologies (ETL, Power BI, Data lake, CRM - Dynamics 365, Public cloud and SaaS data analytics) and common SQL and no-SQL database platforms
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Data and Information Security, Privacy and regulatory frameworks in development of architectures
- Experience in developing reference architecture and Solution Designs for a business area and or enterprise
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise architecture and data governance processes
- Advanced understanding of technology and emerging data and digital industry trends
- Understanding of financial governance process and experience in reviewing business cases, financial estimates and RFPs
- Experience in Financial services industry (highly beneficial)
- Experience working both independently and as part of a small team of Solution Architects / Designers / Engineers
- Influencing and storytelling skillset with strong verbal, written and presentation skills with an ability to communicate in both technical and business language, ability to translate complex technical language into business impacts and requirements
