ABOUT THE ROLE:

Multicultural Australia is currently offering an opportunity for an Employment Develop Coordinator to work as part of our Community Development and Engagement team. The role is full-time, fixed term for 12 months and based in Rockhampton.

The Employment Development Coordinator works to facilitate employment focused training with clients for the purpose of supporting new arrivals and communities achieve economic and social participation and contribute to a prosperous future for all Queenslanders and the Queensland economy. Among other duties, the successful candidate will:

  • Develop and facilitate employment-focused training through 1 to 1 and group sessions, face to face and using digital technology - targeting specific client needs and desired employment outcomes;
  • Manage and engage stakeholders to deliver employer and/or Industry specific information sessions for clients to consider and engage with employment opportunities;
  • Coordinate referral, intake, and assessment processes for new employment candidates;
  • Meet and achieve organisational KPIs and work plans with the essential focus on a Results Based Accountability framework;
  • Manage and educate multiple stakeholders (internal, external and partnership relationships) to maintain and grow the foundation for recruitment, training and job placements;

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS DO I NEED?

You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have effective communication and interpersonal skills. As well as having a confident and positive personality, you will possess:

  • Possession of a tertiary qualification in Business/Management, Human Resources, Training, Community Services, Social Work or related discipline;
  • Demonstrated experience in providing results-driven employment support to jobseekers, especially the ones with multiple barriers to employment
  • Proven ability to develop and lead both in-person and technology-based employment support programs and group activities;
  • Outstanding cross-cultural communication skills and a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of issues in relation to the settlement and Australian employment experience of refugees and migrants;
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively and strategically through utilising high level stake holder negotiation skills (internal and external) in seeking opportunities for clients and the organisation;

Successful candidate will be required to have a valid driver’s licence, police check and apply for a Working with Children Blue Card. It is a condition of employment with Multicultural Australia to fulfil all our current and future COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
