Online & Face to Face Conversational English Teacher

The purpose of this role is to help our Sisters improve their conversational English speaking abilities.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To spend an hour (either one-on-one or in a small group of women) at a time having English conversation with our sisters (women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds).
  • Briefly documenting progress, wins and challenges.

Desired experience and qualifications:

  • Experience working with people who are Asylum Seekers, Refugees or migrants.
  • Degree or relevant experience in the field of Social Work, Community Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Public Policy, Recruitment.
  • Experience with mentioned role responsibilities.

Desired experience & qualifications:

  • Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) highly desirable but not essential.
  • Teaching background or experience highly desirable but not essential.
  • Experience volunteering or working with culturally and linguistically  diverse backgrounds an advantage but not essential.

Compulsory requirements:

  • Current Working with Children Check and/or Police Check (if you do not have one, you can apply for one free of cost)
