ROLE DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this role is to lead and manage programs at the Social Impact Hub that build the capacity and capability of social enterprises and help individuals embed impact in their careers.

The role will suit an experienced program manager who loves juggling lots of balls, and is comfortable working in a fast paced, agile environment.

The exact list of responsibilities is flexible depending on the expertise and interests of the successful candidate. This role will likely have one direct report (a Program Coordinator) and leverage the Social Impact Hub's Professional Impact Network (PIN) of 65+ experts which is our expert delivery 'arm'.

This includes:

  • Managing the delivery of Social Impact Hub’s key education programs. This may include the Social Impact Fellowship, Reimagine Impact, Resilience and Impact for Social Enterprises (RISE) and Scaling Impact, an accelerator program for social enterprises. The balance of the various programs will shift throughout the year.
  • Supporting the Head of Impact Education and relevant team members to prepare and maintain program tools, resources, documentation, online platforms and communications, as required.
  • Developing and maintain strong working relationships with collaboration partners, PIN members, clients, and key external stakeholders, to support program implementation and ensure high-quality client engagement and service delivery.
  • Developing and maintain strong working relationships with our internal team to leverage synergies, ensure alignment with broader organisational work streams and drive collaboration to deliver high quality outcomes.
  • Supervising and manage relevant team members as appropriate including internal team and contractors.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in a relevant context e.g. managing or leading incubators or accelerator programs and working with impact-focused organisations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish meaningful and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to self-manage, be highly organised, manage simultaneous or competing deadlines, prioritise workload and work independently as well as be part of a team.
  • Ability to achieve outcomes in a growing organisation and evolving external environment
  • Strong business acumen and an outcomes-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Professionally represent the Social Impact Hub and our areas of work externally
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Considerable program / project management experience including implementing program logistics
  • Strong IT skills and ability to learn new systems (we use Zoho One).

Desired

  • General knowledge of at least one of the Social Impact Hub’s areas of work is preferred (ie. impact investing, enterprise education, social enterprise development, impact measurement, philanthropy, corporate social responsibility etc).
  • Experience creating and supporting opportunities for peer learning
  • It is also preferable that the candidate has some experience in working with small businesses, startups, social enterprises or not for profits and an understanding of design thinking.

REPORTING & REMUNERATION

The Program Manager will report to Social Impact Hub’s Head of Impact Education. Work plans and KPIs will be agreed on a quarterly basis in line with overall operational planning. The salary bracket for this role is $80 - $105k plus super (full time equivalent) depending on experience. Salary packaging benefits may also be available.

WORKING WITH THE HUB

As an organisation focused on capability building and education, we provide team members with many opportunities to learn and grow including access to accelerator and fellowship content, and participation in conferences and sector events.

We support team members' personal and professional learning development journeys.

All team members have access to a weekly group exercise session and end of trip facilities at our offices.

The role is based at the Social Impact Hub in Edgecliff, with likely 2-3 days per week working from home (COVID dependent). We also support flexible work arrangements and applicants who would like to work 4 days per week or shorter hours over 4 - 5 days are encouraged to apply.
