ABOUT THE ROLE:
- SCHADS Level 4, $50.09/hour + Super + Salary packaging (up to $17,000 tax free) & gifted leave
- Casual Contract
The Program Support Worker is an integral member of the family violence team and supports the provision of a strengths-based and trauma informed response to women and young people.
This role works closely with the family violence response program to support women and young people to achieve their identified goals. This role also provides administrative support to the program and completes other tasks to ensure the smooth delivery of service.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support women and children experiencing crisis, including the implementation of safety measures
- Supporting women and children to access emergency accommodation
- Supporting women and children with material aid support when in emergency accommodation
- Liaising with contractors as needed, applying for brokerage for women and children
- Supporting the program with the creation of files and other tasks relating to the documenting and evidencing of support provided to victim survivors + for reporting purposes
- Complete referrals and source referral pathways
- Facilitate transportation of women and children as required
ABOUT YOU:
Minimum of Diploma of Community Services or equivalent
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate respectfully to all staff and clients
Demonstrated understanding of a trauma informed approach
Strong administrative and organisational skills, competent literacy and computer skills, strong and accurate data entry skills and strong attention to detail
Demonstrated commitment to working as part of an effective and productive team in an environment of reform
A current full Victorian driver’s license
Ability to work on a mix of shifts of 9.00am – 5.00pm and 10.00am – 6.00pm.
Experience working in the family violence sector is highly desirable
Knowledge of/training in the MARAM (Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework) beneficial
Case or support work experience, particularly working with families and young people presenting with diverse needs is desirable
A current national Police Record Check
A current Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Evidence of Covid-19 vaccination, or medical exemption
