ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

Founded in 2015, Perth based Impact Seed is a proud B-Corp and WA’s leading advisory for Impact Strategy, Impact Measurement, Social Enterprise Venture Building/Investment.

As a small yet diverse impact advisory with a core team of 6, our mission is to catalyse systems-change across finance, business and entrepreneurship by integrating social, cultural and environmental impact as key outcomes alongside financial metric for organisations including corporates, not-for-profits, foundations, entrepreneurs and investors.

Impact Seed also supports the important work of early-stage startup social enterprise development and investment and currently auspices the WA Social Enterprise Council, and acts as secretariat for the Impact Investment Alliance of WA.

Our growing brand and reputation is as a high-integrity trusted partner (we advised over 200 social entrepreneurs, 1000+ workshop/event attendees from NFP, govt and investor circles), and this role is key to accelerate our growth in the areas of:

  • Commercialisation across the social enterprise spectrum, including deepening of Traditional Owner-led commercialisation/investment of impact ventures (Aboriginal economic development through social enterprise)
  • Impact/ESG platform and strategies, and B Corp consulting for corporates
  • Impact Led-Strategies for NFPs
  • Leverage of our key investment partnerships

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking to add a passionate innovator with practical business skills to our team, to both directly build impact ventures, and to support capability in business development

The successful candidate will directly identify and support training and hands-on practical business development consultancy for new and existing social entrepreneurs, as well as new and existing businesses which want to help achieve positive social impacts in the social impact areas we focus.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential:

  • Experience starting and growing a business (customer engagement, business planning, budgeting, presentations, sales and marketing, etc).
  • Experience in cross cultural settings and knowledge of the WA not-for-profit and/or startup ecosystem,
  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written, ideally in a multiple stakeholder engagement setting,
  • Financial and business modelling.

Desired:

  • Understanding of social impact and social entrepreneurship and the WA context,
  • Experience in training and facilitating workshops,
  • Event management experience,
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant problem-solving or systems-thinking discipline, eg. Business, Public Policy, Law, or equivalent.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Practical one on one support for new and existing social enterprises
  • Leading and supporting fee for service client engagements
  • Communication and liaison with social enterprise and not-for-profit stakeholders
  • Identification, aligning and connecting social venture founders with appropriate partners and support programs
  • Designing, facilitating and participating in information sessions and workshops
  • Development of grant, sponsorship and funding opportunities, and strategic partnerships
  • Communication and liaison with partners, sponsors and funders
  • Identification, aligning and connecting social venture founders with appropriate partners and support programs
