We currently have a permanent, full time opportunity for a Senior Technical Solutions Analyst to join our evolving and highly engaged Project Management department. The Senior Technical Solutions Analyst will be based in Collingwood, reporting to the Program Manager.
The Senior Technical Solutions Analyst’s focus will be to provide technical analysis and design to support the banks data programs, through technical solution review and assessment, technical analysis and documentation to operationalise the designed solution.

What you will be doing
- Assist with design and technical solutions for data projects, and the broader data program
- Utilisation of strong technical understanding and experience to steer and challenge vendor approaches and thinking to achieve successful project outcomes
- Adopt, and adapt third party solutions and software as part of our strategic architecture
- Recognise and recommend industry strategic partnerships, digital and data trends and provide evaluation of value
- Lead design connections and approaches to consolidate data from a number of third party sources, and guide the business in identifying new sources of data, and deliver mechanisms for integration into the data warehouse/stores
- Ability to steer conversations and approaches with our strategic partners to manage technical project outcomes and the broader Bank Australia data objectives
- Lead technical discussions within the Data Program providing technical advice on strategic design to achieve successful outcomes
- Hands on capability to structure and advance database design, data and schema standards
- Assist in reviewing and delivering technical design document to translate and operationalise solutions
- Provide technical project guidance to functional delivery and deployment considerations to ensure successful delivery
- Act as a business conduit to support translation of technical deliverables to business competencies, and facilitate business understanding.
What you will bring
- Ability to drive data architecture and strategy that provides real value and is aligned to digital and technology strategies
- Proven functional, non-functional and technical requirement gathering
- Proven experience in leading all technical deliverables in projects
- Proven experience in reviewing, challenging and recommending technically sound solutions and approaches to achieve successful outcomes
- Technical solution analysis and design experience in data domain projects
- Good cloud infrastructure and integration knowledge
- Database design and data architecture experience
- Solid experience as Technical BA/Technical Designer within data and integration projects
- Understanding of architectural approaches and/or frameworks highly desirable i.e. TOGAF, data frameworks and implementations
- Background in delivering cloud transformations – AWS and/or Azure, with specific experience in hybrid-cloud solutions.
- Experience with SQL database technologies, including SSIS and SASS.
- Experience in building SQL schemas, queries and implementing a data dictionary. DBA skills – SQL, PowerBI, ETL.
- Experienced in Architecture and Technical Solution process and design
- Experience in Data Governance. This includes data quality, data management, data policies and business process management.
- Technical project management experience
- Experienced within financial services industry, such as banking, superannuation, insurance, would be highly desirable
