SisterWorks does this through providing learning opportunities in a safe environment where Sisters can build their skills and community, and gain both the knowledge and the confidence to seek employment or further study. The main task for this position is to help with the grants process, which includes:
- Identifying, prospect researching, advising on opportunities
- Project planning
- Preparing high quality written development (applications)
- Internal administration (including reporting and acquittals)
- Project and data management of grants activity
Roles and Responsibilities
- Understand SisterWorks’ various programs
- Assist with grant writing, edit and proofread for new and continuing grant submissions, ensuring complete and timely applications
- Research, develop, and maintain a priority target list of funding opportunities to meet SisterWorks’ funding needs and aspirations
- Research and prepare high-quality funding applications, including coordinating the collection of required information and budgets
- Help maintain an annual calendar of project and program deliverables, to ensure submission key dates and deadlines are met
- Remain up-to-date with existing and emerging funding trends, best practices, platforms and delivery to inform recommendations to the organisation
- Support grant program management and coordination of activities supported by grant programs
- Help the Grant Manager to collaborate with Project Leads, and/or Executive team with data collection, writing of progress update narratives, and submitting timely and accurate reports as required by funders
- Assist in gathering fund and grant related information for SisterWorks’ annual report
Skills and Qualifications
- Qualifications in International development, international studies, communications, research or similar discipline
- Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to present complex information in simple ways
- Develop trust and maintain effective working relationships
