About the role

The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is Australia’s only public hospital solely dedicated to cancer and one of an elite group of hospitals worldwide to have its own integrated cancer research program and laboratories.

The Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation is the fundraising arm of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Fundraising plays a crucial role in advancing cancer research at Peter Mac with funds raised accelerating the search for cancer cures. 
  
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and leading a small team, this important role will lead and train the Supporter Engagement Team in the delivery of the highest levels of donor care and donation processing to help minimise donor attrition, grow donor loyalty and optimise giving levels across multiple fundraising programs.
  
The Supporter Engagement Manager will be required to accurately evaluate and report on team activity, donor engagement actions and outcomes, as well as steward and develop a portfolio of mid- level donors, prospects and fundraisers (predominantly via phone, mail and email). You will manage and develop a small Foundation volunteer program to assist the Foundation’s ability to optimise donor engagement. In addition, you will act as the Foundation’s privacy officer, helping to ensure adherence and compliance with fundraising related legislation, standards, and codes of conduct.
  
About YOU

  • You will be a professional fundraiser with strong relationship building skills and proven success in donor development and stewardship
  • Strong leadership skills and people management experience
  • Excellent project and process management skills are required, along with strong communication, collaboration and negotiation skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, plus excellent numeracy skills and the ability to manipulate data, collate and reconcile information, and record and report on data and donor activity
  • Sound understanding of the principles of good governance in relation to data integrity and all fundraising legislative and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Excellent knowledge of databases/CRM software (preferably fundraising databases and Raisers Edge)
  • Relevant qualifications and / or demonstrated experience in a similar role and FIA Membership is highly regarded.
