If so, the Not-for-Profit Scholarship 2025/26 is the perfect opportunity for you to gain invaluable governance knowledge and strengthen your leadership skills. This scholarship, offered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), is designed to empower those at the heart of NFPs with the tools needed to drive positive change in their communities.

The Governance Foundations for Not-for-Profit Directors course is at the core of this scholarship. It’s a comprehensive 1.5-day program that provides an in-depth understanding of the fundamental roles and responsibilities of governance within not-for-profit organisations. By participating in this course, you’ll gain the expertise needed to help steer your organisation towards success and sustainability.

Important Dates and Details:

  • Applications open: Monday, May 12, 2025

  • Applications close: Sunday, June 15, 2025

  • Scholarship value: Up to $1,800 (covers 100% of the course fees)

  • Course Duration: 1.5 days

  • Course locations: Available nationwide, from metro areas to rural, regional, and remote locations

  • Dates of course delivery: Between November 2025 and June 2026

This is an incredible opportunity to enhance your governance knowledge without the financial burden of course fees. However, please note that travel and accommodation expenses are not covered.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Current or aspiring directors of small to medium NFP organisations with an annual income of less than $3 million

  • Aged 18 or older

  • Australian citizens or permanent residents

  • Not disqualified from serving as a director

  • Not graduates of the AICD’s Foundations of Directorship, Company Directors Course, or Boardroom Mastery
