About us
In late 2019 the Christie Centre purchased the GrowAbility Nursery (previously the Mildura Native Nursery) continuing an environmentally sustainable business to offer climate appropriate plants for the Mildura and wider Sunraysia area.
At GrowAbility Nursery, we specialise in hardened native Australian varieties with our advanced deciduous trees, ornamental and landscaping varieties grown to withstand the challenging Australian climate. With sizes ranging from tube stock to advanced, we have plants to suit your needs.
The nursery is operated by a highly skilled and qualified horticultural team with many years of training and knowledge. As a social enterprise of the Christie Centre, opportunities are created for meaningful employment for people of all abilities.
Qualifications & experience
- Certificate in Horticulture or similar is desirable
- Clear Police Check within last 3 months
- Clear NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Clear Working with Children's Check
- Experience in practical horticulture
- Knowledge of plants
Tasks & responsibilities
- Effective day to day care and general maintenance of nursery plants
- Courteous and timely customer service
- Work under general supervision and exercise judgement
- Work alongside leadership team and disability support workers to develop relevant work skills of participants
- Security of equipment and premises
- Administration support
- Be an active member of the Health and Wellbeing requirements of the workplace
