Christie Centre Inc. is an NDIS registered disability organisation in Mildura, VIC that works to increase opportunities for social participation, inclusion, wellbeing and meaningful occupation for people experiencing disadvantage with a focus on people living with a level of impairment.
Our vision is to achieve equal citizenship for all regardless of ability or background. Across the whole organisation, the Christie Centre employs at least 46 people who have experienced long-term barriers to employment due to disability or disadvantage. All employees are paid at or above award wage and have access to professional development pathways.
Christie Centre Inc. runs four Social Enterprises that provide pathways for skill development and supportive employment for people transitioning through its services. These businesses are deliberately diverse in nature in order to best match the skills, interests, aspirations and capabilities of people accessing our support.
Aroundagain is an environmental precinct which diverts waste from landfill by receiving, repurposing, recycling, restoring and reselling donated furniture and household items. Aroundagain Document Destruction provides a NAID (National Association for Information Destruction) accredited paper shredding service that in 2020 recycled 121 tonnes of paper waste.
Mildura Chocolate Company manufactures premium chocolate products using locally sourced ingredients.
GrowAbility Nursery propagates and sells a range of plants for home garden to commercial landscaping and environmental regeneration projects.
