Our 5 Ps
Whilst everyone refers to People and Planet, we think that this ignores some really important areas, so here's the 5 Ps of Greatest Good:
- People – We like to think of all living creatures, not just people. This includes people, animals, birds, sea life, plants, fungi, and more.
- Place – Place means so many things to different people, but we think of it as Country, culture, communities, where you are connected with your tribes, and wherever you feel safe and grounded
- Planet – the environment and the planet on which we live
- Profit – whilst “profit” often gets a bad rap, even charities and not-for-profits need to make a profit to survive (it’s called a surplus instead of a profit). Greatest Good’s view is simple – we need to make a profit to be economically sustainable. Making greater profits allows us to grow and create greater social, environmental, and community impact.
- Purpose – purpose is the core reason for Greatest Good existing. Whether it is living your values, connecting with those aligned with your values, being inspired and inspiring others, and so much more. For us, it is building the capacity and capabilities of Australia’s female and for-purpose organisations to create our vision of a sustainable, purpose-driven economy built on integrity, equity and fairness.
