There are a number of ways that for-purpose organisations can obtain additional accreditation.

We recommend that you get appropriate legal, tax and professional advice before doing this. However, we have included links below to some of the more popular accreditation processes that you may wish to consider before seeking professional advice.

Social Traders certification

Social Traders provide certification for social enterprises that meet their certification criteria. Further details can be found on their website: https://www.socialtraders.com.au/for-social-enterprise/get-started

B Corporation certification

B Corporatations or B Corps are businesses that balance purpose and profit. Further details on the certification process can be found on their website: https://www.bcorporation.com.au/

Not-for-profit tax concessions

There are 2 types of not-for-profit organisations: Charities; and other Not-for-profit organisations. A number of tax concessions are available to different types of NFP organisations, which are listed on the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) website.

Organisations who seek gifts and donations may be able to obtain Deductible Gift Recipiency (DGR) endorsement from the ATO, which are deductible from the donor's income tax. More information on this endorsement and other tax concessions can be found on the ATO website: https://www.ato.gov.au/Non-profit/Getting-started/
