SisterWorks: Advancing inclusive employment pathways
White Box Enterprises has secured a federal WorkFoundations grant to act as a national aggregator, bringing together eight social enterprises and purpose-led employers, including SisterWorks, to deliver a WorkFoundations program, placing 50+ people facing complex barriers into paid roles and offering participants extensive support and training to sustain meaningful employment.
Through the program, more than 50 individuals experiencing long-term unemployment will be placed into paid roles, where they will receive structured on-the-job training alongside tailored wraparound support, including mentoring, wellbeing services, and pathways to further skill development. By combining real work experience with holistic support, the initiative aims to address not only job access but also long-term retention and progression.
Importantly, the program is designed to go beyond individual outcomes. Participating organisations will work collaboratively to capture data, share insights, and evaluate what models deliver the best results across different cohorts and industries. This includes tracking employment outcomes, cost-effectiveness, and the impact of different support interventions.
With organisations like SisterWorks contributing their deep experience in supporting women from migrant and refugee backgrounds, the program brings together diverse expertise to strengthen inclusive employment pathways across Australia.
