Legislative announcements and changes
Key legislative items this month include:
- Payday super legislation passed, becoming effective for all organisations from 1 July 2025
- The Federal Government passed amendments to paid parental leave
- A reminder that from December 2025, Victorian OHS laws required organisation to manage psychosocial hazards like job demands and job control (see below)
Guidance and updates
- The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) and the AICD have collaborated to issue cyber security guidance for boards
- Safe Work Australia releases its Key Work Health and Safety Statistics, with the data highlighting the growing challenge of psychological health at work
- Legal firm, Allens, has issued a Guide to conducting AI impact assessments
- AICD releases Australia’s first study of how directors are responding to nature as a governance priority
