Member Feature - Be Hers

Human trafficking and modern slavery impact us all - here in Australia, people are still treated as commodities. When freedom is stolen, devastatingly, people are forced into labor, prostitution, child marriage and more.

Be Hers is working to change that.

Through events, mentoring, employment programs and collaborations locally and abroad, Be Hers is igniting meaningful change:

  • Awareness: Public events and online campaigns that shine a light on hidden exploitation
  • Education: Mentoring, training and workshops
  • Employment & Empowerment: A Hobart-based sewing centre and upcoming café that offer dignified work and hope for the future

Be Hers are committed to saying NO to apathy and YES to real action, because we all have the power to help end exploitation.

Be Hers’ Impact:

  • Raises awareness through events, campaigns and community gatherings
  • Funds rescues and provides medical, legal and emotional support
  • Offers skills training through their sewing centre and upcoming café
  • Supports education with mentoring and schooling in Australia and Cambodia
  • Engages volunteers across events, mentorship and support roles
