As we close the financial year, SisterWorks are celebrating the remarkable achievements and growth at SisterWorks.
Thanks to the generosity of supporters, SisterWorks have achieved remarkable milestones, expand their reach and impact, and changed the lives of migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeker women. According to their2022 Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis, every $1 invested in SisterWorks generates $4.30 in social and economic impact. This impact stems from their programs empowering migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeker women, enhancing their confidence, independence, and vocational skills.

Crafted Culture Hospitality - Our catering service received a significant boost with our new larger commercial kitchen. The upgrade took place in September, allowing us to accommodate bigger orders, including conferences. This upgrade allows us to serve more clients our delicious, culturally diverse dishes, crafted with care by the talented women we support. Our new kitchen enables us to meet the growing demand for our services, ensuring we deliver high-quality catering for any occasion.
Employment Partnerships - This year, we’ve strengthened and expanded our partnerships with employers across Victoria, providing our Sisters with their first employment opportunities in Australia. Employment profoundly impacts a migrant woman, her family, and her community. It empowers her to gain financial stability, enhances her self-esteem, and enables her to contribute to the broader community. Our Employment Partners play an essential role in this transformative journey, and we’re dedicated to continuing to build and nurture these vital relationships.
Springvale Manufacturing Hub Opening - Last week, we launched our new Hub, nearly three times larger than our previous space. This expansion doubles our manufacturing capacity and allows us to employ more Sisters. We're now involved in manufacturing for Yarra Trams and are a circular economy provider for Richmond Football Club. Exciting times are ahead! SisterWorks Spectacular - In September, we celebrated our 10 years’ milestone through a vibrant multicultural festival showcasing the creativity of the women we support. The event featured beautifully crafted products, captivating performances, lively dancing, and delicious food—a testament to our community's diversity. Over 46 Sisters sold their products and services, drawing public interest and inspiring them to grow their businesses.
