WA Launches Homelessness Support Portal

The Western Australian Government has officially launched Find My Way, a new online portal designed to help people experiencing homelessness access essential services and accommodation more easily across the state.

Announced on 14 April 2025, the initiative provides a centralised digital platform for people in crisis to locate available support. The portal is accessible via smartphone or computer, including public terminals at local libraries.

Developed with $2.25 million in state funding, the project is part of Western Australia’s broader strategy to address homelessness under the ‘All Paths Lead to a Home: 10-Year Strategy 2020–2030’.

Streamlined Support and Referrals

Find My Way offers users detailed, location-based information about accommodation and support services, alongside a secure way to store and manage important documents. For users not currently connected to any service, the platform provides access to a Homelessness Service Connector through Centrecare’s Entrypoint service, offering help with referrals and service navigation.

Importantly, with the user’s consent, the portal can share personal information securely with service providers, eliminating the need for repeated storytelling and easing the burden of administrative processes.

Upgrades to SHIP System Enhance Service Delivery

Alongside the portal, the State Government has also funded upgrades to the Specialist Homelessness Information Platform (SHIP), the key tool used by frontline services. The upgrades now enable:

  • Real-time visibility of bed vacancy rates

  • A new online referral system

  • Enhanced data-sharing across agencies

Collaborative Development with Sector Partners

The development of Find My Way was led by a consortium of sector leaders, including:

  • Infoxchange (technology partner)

  • Anglicare WA

  • Anthologie (design agency)

  • Innovation Unit

Input from community service providers and people with lived experience of homelessness shaped the design of the portal to ensure it is user-friendly and fit for purpose.

Find My Way is part of a broader trend in digital inclusion and service innovation, aiming to make support services more accessible, coordinated, and trauma-informed.

Users can still access services through traditional channels, such as visiting engagement hubs, calling Entrypoint Perth, or contacting housing providers directly.
