This program provides mentoring support to VIC small businesses to help them invest, expand and innovate.

Overview


The Business Skills Mentoring Program will provide up to 1,000 eligible small business owners with 3 one-hour mentoring sessions to be used with 3 months.

Experienced mentors can provide advice on a wide range of business topics, including but not limited to:

  • marketing
  • communication
  • finance
  • strategic planning
  • digitalisation
  • change management

The program is for small businesses in 6 priority sectors:

  • advanced manufacturing and defence
  • agribusiness
  • circular economy
  • digital technologies
  • health technologies and medical research
  • regional tourism

To be eligible, businesses must:

  • be registered in VIC and operating within one of the 6 priority sectors
  • be registered for goods and services tax (GST)
  • have an Australian business number (ABN), held continuously from 1 December 2024
  • have 20 or fewer employees
