Financial Resilience Framework

In a significant step forward for community crisis support, the Centre for Social Impact at UWA (CSI UWA), in collaboration with the Financial Counsellors Association of Western Australia (FCAWA), has developed a pioneering national resource to boost financial resilience across Western Australia.

This Disaster Preparedness, Response, and Recovery Framework is designed to guide financial counsellors as they assist individuals and communities facing economic hardship due to disasters. Whether responding to bushfires, floods, or economic shocks, the framework equips counsellors with the tools and strategies needed to deliver timely, effective financial support during crises.

By formalising a proactive approach to disaster response, the initiative ensures that both frontline counsellors and affected individuals are better prepared and supported when it matters most.

This framework marks a critical advancement in integrating financial resilience into broader emergency response systems—offering hope, guidance, and stability when it’s needed most.
