A marathon movement is underway – and it begins with Hotel Etico CEO, 400 kilometres, and a vision for a more inclusive Australia.

In March 2026, Andrea Comastri, CEO and Co-Founder of Hotel Etico, will take on The Long Run to Inclusion – a gruelling 13-day, 400km run across NSW and the ACT. His journey will end at Parliament House on World Down Syndrome Day (21 March), symbolising the collective steps needed to build a future of inclusion and opportunity.

But this is more than a run. It’s a powerful call to action. Andrea’s goal is to raise $400,000 to ensure Hotel Etico can continue to train and employ 30 young people with disabilities each year, while expanding its model to new academies across Australia.

Why This Matters

Hotel Etico is Australia’s first social enterprise hotel – and a multi-award-winning proof point that inclusive employment works. Since opening in 2022, 53 young people have been trained, with 86% moving into ongoing jobs. The program doesn’t just create work opportunities – it fosters independence, skills, and confidence for young Australians with disabilities.

As Andrea says:

“This isn’t just about finishing 400km. It’s about taking 400,000 steps towards a future where every young person with a disability has a pathway to independence and a job they love. Join me – let’s make history together.”

How You Can Help

Andrea’s run is a collective mission – and there’s a role for everyone. Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Donate or fundraise – Every dollar counts towards the $400,000 target.
  • Run with Andrea – Join him for part of the journey and inspire others.
  • Sponsor or partner – Help fuel the mission with crucial financial or in-kind support.
  • Cheer and activate locally – Host community events, fundraisers, or cheering squads along the route.
  • Spread the word – Share the story on social media, help with storytelling, or follow Andrea’s progress through daily updates and podcasts.

One Hotel Etico graduate summed it up perfectly:

“Hotel Etico opened doors for me. By joining this movement, you’re not just supporting a run; you’re creating opportunities, independence, and belief for young people like me.”

Be Part of the Run for Inclusion

Andrea’s 400km challenge isn’t just his story – it’s an invitation for all of us to walk, run, and act alongside him. Together, we can ensure more young Australians with disabilities have the chance to thrive in work, in life, and in community.
