Join the SECNA Board – Help Shape Social Enterprise Across
NSW & ACT

The Social Enterprise Council of NSW & ACT (SECNA) is inviting expressions of interest for new Board Directors to help lead, connect and strengthen the social enterprise sector across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.


If you’re passionate about purpose, collaboration and creating positive change through social enterprise, and want to help build a stronger, more connected and inclusive sector across our region, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Board Director, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the future of the social enterprise sector, influence policy, and connect with a passionate network of changemakers. You’ll be part of a working Board committed to collaboration, innovation and building a more inclusive, sustainable and purpose-driven economy.

The Role

Board Directors play an active part in shaping SECNA’s strategy, governance and direction. This is a voluntary position for individuals who want to contribute their time, skills and leadership to grow a thriving social enterprise movement that creates opportunities and lasting impact.
● Term: 3 years (Appointments ratified at the 2026 AGM)
● Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per month; meetings every two months for 2 hours
● Remuneration: Voluntary

Desired Attributes

We are seeking candidates who will strengthen the Board’s overall capability and reflect the diversity of the social enterprise community across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

SECNA is particularly committed to enhancing representation and capability across a broad range of areas, including diversity of experience and identity, geographic representation from metropolitan, regional and remote communities, a mix of professional skills, and lived experience within social enterprise or impact-led work.
