Volunteer Opportunity: Support Women Entrepreneurs at SisterWorks
SisterWorks is inviting passionate individuals to join their team as a Social Enterprise Volunteer, supporting women from migrant, refugee, and asylum-seeker backgrounds. This hands-on role offers the chance to contribute across retail, cafe, and entrepreneurship programs, empowering Sister Entrepreneurs to develop skills, grow their brands, and succeed in ethical business ventures.
Volunteers will assist in retail and customer service, including processing sales and online orders, providing training, supervising Sisters, and helping with inventory management. In the cafe, volunteers will support daily operations, provide hospitality guidance, and mentor Sisters to deliver excellent customer service. The role also involves aiding the entrepreneurship program—helping with brand development, product creation, pricing, and ethical manufacturing insights.
Ideal candidates are currently pursuing tertiary education in areas like International Studies, Development, Business Management, or Fashion Entrepreneurship, with strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Experience in retail or working with migrants and refugees is advantageous. Volunteers must be legally entitled to work in Australia and complete relevant background checks.
This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference by supporting women to gain skills, confidence, and independence while contributing to an ethical social enterprise.
